Hello. My name is Kenda Newbury. Welcome to my personal website. Dance has been my profession, my way of life, the way I breath, for over 30 years.
My interests are choreographing, collaborating on small and large-scale projects, teaching dance, coaching privately and helping all people of all ages and abilities or "talents" improve, grow and be challenged.
I believe in a solid, correct technical ballet base, the foundation of all dance. I enjoy working with those that have a performance quality over "tricks".
Currently:
- Mom of two children, Shaeleigh and Colin.
- Wife of Paul.
- Founder and Artistic Director of AZDance Group, a professional dance company - one where I am blessed to work with dancers from Boston, Myrtle Beach, NYC and Las Vegas as well as those from Arizona. We create and produce educational, inspirational, thought-provoking and entertaining works in all dance techniques and styles.
- Creator and Director of various Educational Outreach Programs - the most meaningful and inspirational to me is the one I created in 2005 for young adults to seniors with Down Syndrome, Autism and Physical Challenges. I call it Movement E-Motion or MEM.
- Instructor - all levels of ballet at Adaptive Force Performing Arts in North Scottsdale
- Coach & Choreographer - I coach privately and semi-privates and choreograph for a variety of ensembles, companies, teams and more throughout the country
- Director of Stage Management for the upcoming PROJECT DANCE ARIZONA 2012. Information coming soon to your studio or company as to how you can perform/be a part of this amazing national and international event.
